The Nordstream explosions are horrifying, the thought that the United States government had anything to do with it is frightening. But to be realistic it’s obvious that the world would not be in the situation it is in if not for the consequences of the very questionable, to put it mildly, 2020 election. The disaster in the White House is pushing us to kinetic war with Russia & China. I didn’t save it, but I read today that Putin put up a very kind, warm expression of grief for Queen Elizabeth leaving an opening for discussions to come to an agreement with America & GB on the war. Then Biden made sure that he was snubbed & not invited to the funeral. This was a turning point for Putin, he realized that there was no way of bridging the divide. This hardened his heart. There is no turning back now.

President Trump has offered to be a peace broker. Interestingly a Q person that I listen to predicted that this would happen.

Trump can’t get involved with Russia negotiating & Ukraine on his own, I don’t think. Now the US has committed a war crime by exploding the Nordstream pipeline, who knows what tomorrow will bring. Zelensky & Biden together are leading the Ukrainian people down the drain.

I am just curious as to where this story can be found. Is it in Phrophets? How was it handed down? I have studied Torah a bit & as an American Jewish woman I have not heard this story or this fast day so I am very interested in its history. Like many of our phrophetical teachings of old, it is very relevant today.

Speaking of relevant… look how Jeremiah was treated in response to his warnings (prophecies!) that the Temple would be destroyed if the people did not change their evil ways. He was jailed 😨. From the hyperlink “Jeremiah” on the Nissan Mindel article on Chabad.org: His melancholy prophecies concerning the forthcoming destruction of the first Holy Temple and the Babylonian exile were viewed by many as treasonous, and resulted in his incarceration. Authored the book of the Prophets that bears his name, as well as the Books of Kings and Lamentations.

In addition to the sources for the story of Gedalya in the Prophets that Karen quoted earlier, the episode is also discussed in the Talmud. My husband told me the source and the details. It’s Tractate Nidda 61. So sad, also so important to know. It says there that Ishmael kept all the bodies “that Gedalya killed” in a pit. And the Talmud asks, but Gedalya didn’t kill anyone?!? The answer is given, BECAUSE GEDALYA DID NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE WARNING HE WAS GIVEN ABOUT ISHMAEL COMING TO KILL HIM, HE IS HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO ALSO DIED AS A RESULT.

Very scary implications for our current situation with the covid shots. 😰😰😰

Gedaliah’s story is told in 2 Kings 25:22-26 and Jeremiah 39:13-14; 40:1-41:18. He is introduced as Gedaliah son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan, a prominent scribe of the period and the head of a household that supported both Josiah’s religious reforms and the prophet Jeremiah.

Thank you so much for your informative response. It’s been a long time since I was in Torah study. Tell me more about who I would be studying with.

There is an organization called Partners in Torah. They match people up, depending on what someone wants to learn and where they are in their life. I also have a friend here in Israel that might like to learn with you. You choose the topic.

Do they pair you up with a more learned person? I feel this would be very necessary, because I need guidance. And if it is an Israeli person, they would be Orthodox & a follower of which Rabbi? Orthodox is preferred, although I am not.

Yes, they would be english speaking, more learned and experienced and yes Orthodox. Unless someone is chassidish, they don't follow just one rabbi. You can even contact Partners in Torah yourself and ask these questions. Still happy to help.

Thank you for all the information. I’m not sure I can concentrate at this moment with all the craziness going on in this world. I don’t want to commit to something & not follow through. For reference is it partnersintorah.com? I guess it is, I checked the link! Many thanks.
