Things I observed in my children and their friends during this dark time:

1) female teen had multiple break downs (cried their eyes out and worried life would never go back to normal) during the first year when we were isolated and had online school. We had it worse here than in the UK and other states as the children were denied school for over 1 year. Also all friends formed "bubbles" and she was excluded due to the way they were laid out. Outside meet ups were allowed by other parents after some time but most other families were following all the rules.

2) Social isolation was awful for both my teens. The male older teen had one good friend (online) that helped them through as they talked and played games together every night online. The other had multiple friends engaging online but was concerned about bullying once the jabs were available for their age-group as friends were wanting to exclude them based on this attribute. We supported them and provided things to say to friends if they asked to reduce anxiety around this particular issue. All friends of both kids were jabbed as far as I know and they judged my kids because they did not get them. This was the worst bullying but mostly came down from the parents.

3) One teen has two friends with mental health issues over the past year- one had to be taken to a hospital twice for a few days due to depression. The other was diagnosed with anorexia and was hospitalized for a while and then banned from exercise at school.

4) Most sports at the school required jabs even if outside and sports were cancelled for the 1+ years of online school.

5) There was a definite loss of education especially for older teen as had half the amount of class time when on line and so thus competing at a disadvantage on IB and AP exams.

6) Oldest teen now at college had wanted a therapist. Says many college mates are having therapists to help cope with dystopian world. One kid in his dorm died last year - either overdose or suicide is my guess, as we never heard from the College as to what actually happened and my teen was never told.

7) Masking and testing were semi-enforced but mostly maintained due to peer pressure at schools though happy to report that the kids have rejected the masks at the local high school now for the most part.

I’ve noticed a difference in many. My beautiful 8yr old niece is a shadow of her former self. Aphasia in a few young ladies I’ve encountered recently. I had it too after my last infection - brain and voice weren’t communicating properly. What is going to happen to society? We are on the verge of a catastrophic amount of disability and disruption beyond what we are already experiencing.
